About

Stefano Garzon

I am an interventional cardiologist at Einstein Hospital Israelita in São Paulo, Brazil, where I have worked since 2021. I am a PhD candidate in two programs: at the Albert Einstein Faculty of Health Sciences (FICSAE, São Paulo, Brazil) and at Sapienza University of Rome (Rome, Italy).

On this site I publish critical reviews of scientific papers and posts on statistics, clinical research and computing.

Training

Research

I have 19 publications from 2018 to 2026, including papers in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, EuroIntervention and Coronary Artery Disease. I have presented at EuroPCR every year from 2022 to 2026. Awards: best abstract at the SBHCI Congress 2025 (FIRE-OCT study) and at EuroPCR RioValves 2025 (TACT study).

Statistics and computing

I have liked computers for as long as I can remember. I started programming in BASIC at age 7 and earned my first money with it at 13. Since then I have used Visual Basic, FoxPro, Delphi, HTML, JavaScript, C# and, today, Python. For about 30 years I have also been the IT person for friends and family. I now use Claude Code to write software, and some of the results are published in the Computing section.

Peer review

Reviewer for EuroIntervention, European Heart Journal, BMC journals and Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia.
